Strategic Business Consultant

We are looking for a tenured Strategic Business Consultant with experience managing high-value technical customers to help retain Help On Demand’s presence in the technology space. You will own relationships with C-level executives and technical leaders, finding ways to make our technology work in complex organizations. You will showcase demonstrated analytical ability (inclusive of Excel, Business Intelligence modeling, and PowerPoint skills), balanced with a strong professional presence, critical reasoning, and strategic thinking skills. You will partner with customers to identify opportunities to drive business growth & profitability and help customers achieve their goals. Your focus will be on building strong, trusted advisor status both externally with customers and internally with our teams. You’ll use your strong product knowledge and technical aptitude to provide consultative solutions to our customers.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, have a strong track record of building deep customer relationships, excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills. A detail-focused personality with strong technical and project management and follow-through skills. The ability to prioritize and systematically address the needs of Help On Demand’s prospective and existing customers, and ensure their needs are fully addressed. Ability to learn quickly, with a love of taking on new challenges. 

Position is based in the Denver, CO, and will continue as virtual with meetings in the office as needed. 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Own and manage customer relationships to achieve superior customer service and retention 
  • Develop deep trusted relationships with customers based on your proven results
  • Conduct regular customer reviews by gathering customer issues and key metrics, and effectively prioritizing a roadmap for requests, product bugs, and overall customer satisfaction 
  • Regularly analyze customer metrics via Excel and other applications; synthesize and present findings to C-level suite executives in highly professional, concise manner
  • Monitor the application regularly to report on any anomalies 
  • Research and troubleshoot daily customer escalations with back up data to support your analysis
  • Regularly consult with customers on patterns, trends and strategic insights 
  • Creatively investigate customers’ organizational landscape to expand Help On Demand’s footprint and drive additional revenue 
  • Closely work with internal staff to communicate needs/issues of customers, and drive product ideation
  • Mitigate at risk customers
  • Maintain a high degree of confidence and trust with customers/partners
  • Availability after hours and weekends, on occasion

The Skill Set:

  • 5 – 10 years in account management, business development, consulting, partnerships, sales or sales engineering focused on technical products
  • In-depth experience collaborating internally with partners on complex deals or partnerships
  • Experience with requirements gathering with customers, building business cases for feature development with products teams, while balancing expectations for both parties
  • Ability to design and deliver presentations to customers, interact with clients in person and over the phone, including the ability to interact with “C-Level” audience in a customer organization
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Snagit Editor, and SmartDraw
  • Expertise with Excel and proficient in communicating data via Excel or other business intelligence tools
  • Experience working within an Agile project management framework 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and presentation skills with a consultative approach
  • Thoroughness, persistence and a desire to get to the root-cause of problem
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Proven project management skills (develop, lead, report on project plans)
  • A passion for technology
  • Comfort with negotiation
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
