Job Brief

Help On Demand is looking for an experienced Software Developer to design and develop various software applications, based on business requirements defined by a business analyst and on technical requirements defined by the head of the Application Development department. Software Developer may be assigned tasks to work on individually or as part of a team with other developers. This is a full-time, on-site and/or off-site position. This position will interact with the business analyst in both CA and CO to receive and understand the business requirements for the software project assigned to them and with members of the QA team, when the time comes to test the project being built. Software Developer, even when working on tasks assigned individually to them, are part of the Application Development team and are expected to interact respectfully, professionally and collaboratively with the rest of the team.



  • Understand the business requirements as documented by the business analyst
  • Design a software solution, within the existing technological platform in use by the organization, to satisfy the business requirements
  • Build the software solution in accordance with the approved design
  • Properly document the software solution being build
  • Collaborate with the business analyst and QA team members during the testing phase of the software solution to promptly address any issues that may arise during the testing phase
  • Participate in technical coordination meetings
  • Assist with development of gap analysis and process improvement
  • Participate in alignment of processes in system
  • Communicate any risk and issues to their supervisor and/or the IT Program Manager

Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • Solid knowledge of Object Oriented Programming Principles and Methodologies
  • Solid understanding of Software Analysis, Design and Testing
  • Solid knowledge the .Net Framework versions 4.0 and above
  • Demonstrated experience in development of web-based and windows-based C# applications
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, AJAX, and Angular JS programming (required)
  • Background or knowledge in React or React Native
  • Familiarity with jQuery, Bootstrap
  • Solid understanding of relational database design
  • Proficiency in SQL Server programming
  • Demonstrated experience in MVC Development
  • Experience in Web-oriented UI and Graphics design (desired, not required)
  • Demonstrated interest in understanding the business requirements behind the tasks assigned
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Solid time management skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work without constant supervision
  • Assertivity in reaching out to management and other team members to ask questions related to tasks assigned
